1 ¼ cup dried black beans

Pour the beans into a multipurpose pressure cooker (such as the Instant Pot). Cover with a few inches of cold water. Close and secure the lid. Select Manual; set the timer to 21 minutes on high pressure according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Wait 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.

Release pressure using natural release method according to manufacturer's instructions 10 to 40 minutes. Unlock and remove lid. Allow beans to drain and cool.
