According to data from Google Trends the number of Americans dining out has increased dramatically over the past two weeks as the country continues to open up and numbers are now nearly back to pre-coronavirus levels.
Google data shows that searches for “restaurants” and “restaurants near me” have increased sharply recently and are close to and in some states even above pre-pandemic levels.
At the same time online searches for recipes have declined as the novelty of creative home cooking wears off. Recipe searches were at an all-time high during the lockdown period even surpassing the busy holiday season.
