So, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max hit the shelves with much excitement, but soon after, users started reporting overheating issues. Complaints ranged from the phone feeling uncomfortably hot to temperatures exceeding 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Now Apple has stepped in to address these concerns, and here's the scoop.
Turns out this isn't a design flaw! Apple has confirmed that the overheating issue is linked to a software bug in the latest iOS 17. The titanium frame and aluminum substructure of the new phones are not the culprits; in fact, they are designed to dissipate heat even more efficiently than previous models.
According to Apple's statement to CNET, they have identified a few conditions that cause the iPhone to heat up more than expected. First, during the first few days after installation or restoration, increased background activity can contribute to heat. Second, there is a bug in iOS 17, which they promise to fix in an upcoming software update.
