Is it difficult for me to play with a controller? Rocket League sideways gameplay

I recently started playing on a controller to create better freestyle videos for YT, but I think it will take a lot longer since there is a lot of difference in how the car moves by touch compared to the controller. Also I have slowness issue and 20% joystick error, as tested on gamepad tester, it will be hard for me to become better on gamepad, but at least I can try so you can enjoy better gameplay.
