Want some good news? The easiest way to make iced coffee turns out to be the best way. At least that’s what our panel of blind tasters agreed upon when we compared Japanese iced coffee to cold brew and leftover hot brewed coffee. Specifically tasters preferred Japanese iced coffee when they drank it black (cold brew came out on top when they mixed it with milk).
Coffee is of course a complicated concoction with a ridiculous number of variables from bean type and roast to grind size brewing method water temperature and more. So this isn’t a topic that can be boiled down to a series of simple answers. Still Japanese iced coffee has a lot to offer.
