Kalisa built an extensive career in food media and after serving as Brand Director for Tasting Table she left New York City and moved to Jamaica to launch a travel company called The Runaway Experience. Her first location The Runaway Jamaica B&B was the world’s first successfully crowdfunded bed and breakfast. There Kalisa served as executive chef using the freshest ingredients to create hyper-local dishes with a progressive take on classic Jamaican flavors. The Runaway quickly became a popular destination expanding to host guests in Cuba Bali Morocco and the U.S.
Now after meeting and collaborating with hundreds of amazing people while eating her way around the world Kalisa is sharing her unique perspective on food with the world. Her YouTube channel Kalisa Marie Eats features tons of recipes inspired by her travels plus quirky videos with in-depth tutorials and of course plenty of drool-worthy bites. Kalisa has also been gluten-free for over 15 years and loves the challenge of recreating whatever she’s in the mood for.
