As a recipe developer she brings a sense of creativity and beauty to her work always focusing on how the food will taste and look when the guest first sees a plate. She believes it is important to nourish all the senses during a dining experience.
Although she was interested in cooking from a young age she didn't decide on a career in culinary arts until she attended college and earned a bachelor's degree in advertising and marketing. This ultimately turned out not to be the fulfilling career choice she had hoped for.
After a career in sales and advertising Karen began to wonder what else could feed her creative brain. She took a certificate course in culinary arts from the New York Restaurant School in Greenwich Village New York and later went to work for Frank Stitt a beloved and renowned chef in her hometown of Birmingham Alabama at Highlands Bar and Grill.
