Today I'm here to review the Keeper password manager and determine if it's a safe choice in 2024.

Security

Firstly, it has a layered encryption model, meaning this is done locally on the device by combining two different encryptions, so only encrypted passwords are sent to Keeper's servers. This is a remarkable encryption method, used only by a very small number of leading password managers.

In addition to top-notch encryption, Keeper is also a zero-knowledge service, meaning it doesn't have access to your data. So, if their servers are hacked, your data will still be safe.

Self-destruct function

I can use it to clear all locally stored passwords. If I enabled it, it clears the locally stored vault after five failed login attempts. While this is unlikely to be necessary, it's still a nice little addition.

Security audit functionality

The security audit evaluates the strength of my password. This tool quickly goes through all my passwords and tells me which ones are weak, whether because they're reused or aren't complex enough.

It's a separate messaging app. All their information is locked in a secure vault accessible only after identity confirmation. It offers a lot more control than other chat apps like Messenger. It has self-destruct timers on sensitive messages and attachments, and it also lets me remove my messages. Additionally, all media is saved to your private gallery separately from your main camera.

Unique sharing function

The single share feature is great because I can share passwords and sensitive data even with someone who doesn't have Keeper, whether it's my coworkers, family, or friends. It uses encryption and allows me to set an expiration date.

To add passwords, first go to settings and click import. It will import all the passwords you have on your browser. It works on Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Safari and IE if for some reason anyone is still using it. And yes, it's not just for passwords. For example, under the Identity & Payments tab, I can save all my card information.

To share passwords, first select a password I want to share in my vault, then click Options, then click Share. Keep in mind that unlike the single share feature, for this to happen, the person I'm sharing my password with must also have Keeper.

Final thoughts ️

Keeper is one of the best password managers on the market. Keeper's security is top-notch, as it follows strict guidelines and offers unique features that are actually useful. And even though some of these features are paid, it's definitely worth it because no one else can offer it to you.
