If you don't have a desktop or laptop but still need to run some ADB commands, LADB will allow you to run a local ADB connection on your device.

video description

I've done a number of videos here on the channel about using ADB to customize or modify the Android operating system in ways that we simply can't do with Android's user features. These can range from restarting in Fastboot mode to uninstalling bloatware from the default user account.

Unfortunately, not everyone has a PC to run these commands. And until recently, we still needed a PC connected to the phone via USB cable to operate them.

A developer named tytydraco released an application called LADB a few years ago. It stands for Local ADB since you can use it to run ADB commands locally directly on your device. So with this app you no longer need a laptop or desktop to run some ADB commands on your phone.

This is all possible thanks to the wireless debugging feature added to Android a few years ago.

But before we can use it, we first need to enable developer mode on your phone. If you haven't already done this and need help with this step, please see the video description below, as I will link to a separate tutorial that I made specifically for this task.

Once developer mode is enabled, we then need to download and install the LADB app on our smartphone. You can find this app on the Google Play Store for a few dollars, but it's also open source, so you can also compile the APK from sources.

But if you want to get a free copy of this APK, I will also include a download link to the APK in the video description. This was provided to the community thanks to GitHub user btrtech who recently started compiling the app from source.

Now I will say that this app can be a little buggy. But after several attempts and restarting the phone, I was able to get LADB working on my Google Pixel 6 running the latest Android 13 QPR beta.
