There are a few things that most laksas have in common: noodles a main topping like shrimp or chicken and a spicy flavorful broth. Sometimes that’s where the similarities end as with many dishes laksas vary by region and take on slightly different forms depending on where they’re made and who’s making them.
This makes perfect sense considering the origins of laksa. The noodle soup is considered a mix of Chinese and Malay or Javanese cuisines either through the fusion of cultures or through intermarriage.
