Lauren Mowery first developed her taste for wine as an undergraduate at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville a winery with many wineries. After graduating from Fordham Law she took a detour into a career as a lawyer in New York before leaving to become a full-time wine and travel writer for which she has won several awards. Lauren is currently a contributor to Decanter and was the travel editor for Wine Enthusiast for four years and a wine and travel columnist for Forbes for eight years. She has also contributed to dozens of other drinks publications including Tasting Panel Somm Journal Punch and SevenFifty Daily. She hopes to complete her Master of Wine in 2025. Lauren is also launching Azure Road a digital food travel and lifestyle publication for conscious consumers. When she’s not traveling she splits her time between Upstate New York and Charleston South Carolina.
