SMS method to link Aadhar and PAN DOES NOT work for everyone!
Here's how to do it step by step:
1. Open the Income Tax portal and click on the Aadhar Section link and enter your details.
2. A message will appear stating that your payment information is not verified with the service. Click continue, enter some basic details.
3. Now select income tax payment, set financial year to 2023-24, minor head to '500' and pay 1000 through the mode of your choice.
3. After that, just wait for 5-6 days and log in again. Click on the Aadhar and PAN link and your payment will be verified. Then enter your Aadhar number and PAN where prompted, and your linking will be completed in a few hours.
The process doesn't happen overnight, so don't delay! Do it as soon as possible and share it with your friends
