Linux File Sharing, Run Your Own NAS Server – This video explains in detail how to install a Linux file sharing server on your home network with a custom configuration from scratch.

This will help you better understand what's going on behind the scenes of most commercial and free/open source NAS storage devices and software.

This video focuses entirely on custom storage configuration with 2 disks in RAID 1 mirroring using Debian Linux, Multidisk (MD) service, mdadm tool, ssh and Webmin as main components.

There are other free and open source software NAS solutions that are also worth mentioning:

1.) Open Media Vault – https://www.openmediavault.org
2.) Free NAS – https://www.freenas.org

Let me know in the comments section below if you'd like to see more videos like this, including these 2 other solutions.
