/"Security Update 2024-01 for Windows 10 version 22H2 for x64-based systems (KB5034441) will not install on my Windows 10 computer/"
PLEASE NOTE – For some people, this issue was easily resolved by simply enabling TPM in their BIOS (on any 8th Gen or newer Intel processor) to allow the operating system to access the TPM. Then the update works!
For others, Microsoft has provided a script fix mentioned here in detail on how to run a script that increases the WinRE partition size.
#1 – In Windows Search, search for Windows Powershell, right-click it and choose Run as administrator.
Then run this command:
set-execution unrestricted policy
Next, select Yes to All (by pressing the letter a) when prompted. Keep the window open.
#2 – Download this script file, 1.ps1 located here:

Create two folders on the root of your C drive, with names 1 and 2, their paths being as follows:
C://1
C://2
Copy the script file you downloaded to the C://1 folder
Back in the Powershell window, navigate to the C drive folder using this command:
cd C://1
This will ensure that the folder containing the script is selected. Now we need to run the script, which increases the size of WinRE. To do this, run the following command:
.//1.ps1
Press R to RUN ONCE
When asked for the backup folder, type:
C://2
Once finished, close all open windows, go back to Windows Update and check for updates and KB5034441 will install without further failure notices.
