I took my mother’s childhood recipe for candied yam and added a layer of caramel. It is now a must-have at every Thanksgiving and Christmas and is often requested with great anticipation by all who have had it. One recipe serves 6 but barely. I promise there will be no leftovers. If you are feeding 6 or more I recommend doubling the recipe in a 9×13 pan.
