The winter holidays here begin in early December and are marked by family traditions that have been shared for generations. Unlike many countries in Hungary the most important day of the Christmas season is December 24 Christmas Eve. On this day we decorate the Christmas tree and traditionally children can only see it when they hear the bell ringing which means it is time for the presents.
