After college I became obsessed with Emerald Valley Kitchen hot salsa which is sadly no longer made. It tasted so much fresher than the shelf-stable jarred salsas I used to eat that I drank it by the bucketload.
The only thing I didn’t like about it? The price tag. At about four bucks a tub (this was early 2010) this salsa was out of my reach. That’s where my journey began to create my own “home” salsa recipe superior and far more affordable than anything I could buy in the store.
