My Favorite Green Smoothie | Minimalist Bakery Recipes

I know I share a lot of dessert recipes here but I eat very clean in general. I try to incorporate fruits and vegetables into every meal. Things like meat refined grains heavy sauces and cheese are all in moderation. Dark chocolate is my one daily indulgence. And if I haven’t eaten leafy greens in 12+ hours I start to hyperventilate a little. In other words I enjoy a raw brownie every now and then but generally whole foods are the name of the game.

Meet this green smoothie. The ingredients are simple and affordable: almond milk peanut butter banana mixed berries flaxseed and spinach. And it literally takes 2 minutes to make. I love that I leave with a full 3 servings of fruits and veggies in the morning which takes the pressure off of having two huge salads for lunch and dinner to get my greens in. Plus I love all the fiber in it the salty-sweet balance and how it keeps me full until lunch. Seriously it doesn’t get much better for me than a giant green smoothie for breakfast or as a mid-afternoon snack.

Although I’ve tried other variations this is my favorite because I can cram in as much spinach as I want without changing the flavor at all—and for the record it tastes like a creamy peanut butter banana shake. Hello dream smoothie.
