This is a completely no-nonsense macaroni and cheese recipe just like my mom and grandma used to make. A simple white sauce that you add cheese and a few other flavors to with macaroni and a potato chip crust. This recipe makes enough I like to make two pans so I can take one to a potluck and keep the other in the fridge for later. It's a recipe that you can easily adapt if you only want to make one pan. If you're not cooking it right away keep the topping separate until you put it in the oven.
