***Update: Some users have reported the same initial FPS issue, even after playing the game without issue and relaunching Bottles for subsequent play sessions. It is now assumed that the shader cache is not saved by Bottles and that shader downloading occurs on every launch. We have not confirmed this fact. This is a guess until we know more. If this is correct, it just means that you may have to wait for shaders to download every time you launch the game for optimal performance on SteamOS. This doesn't seem to be an issue on the Windows side of my dual-boot Steam Deck. So, as we have recommended in the past and continue to recommend, for best performance, consider the dual boot option (Windows/SteamOS). Links to tutorials can be found below. We generally recommend the SSD partition method.

***Correction: In the video I said the game was running from an SD card, but SteamOS actually installed it on the internal SSD.

Today we are going to share how to run Overwatch 2 on Steam Deck in SteamOS. Follow me and you'll be up and running in no time. The performance is okay. For the best experience, you'll want to play it on Windows on Steam Deck. Check out our tutorials below if you want to learn how to dual boot. We recommend the internal partition method.
