Being a parent of a child with an intellectual disability can sometimes seem overwhelming. But it can also be wonderfully rewarding. Dr. Ambrose, a recognized expert on IDD, shares his top 5 tips for raising a child with a developmental disability.

Dr. Adrian Jacques H Ambrose, MD, MPH, FAPA is currently the Medical Director of the Faculty of Psychiatry Practice Organization at Columbia University. Integrating business development with clinical medicine, he has also served as a subspecialty consultant in operations management and design thinking to industry through Mass General Brigham Connected Health. For nearly a decade, Dr. Ambrose has also served as a private consultant on user engagement, market entry, diversity/equity/inclusion (DEI) program development, wellness promotion and burnout prevention for mid- to large-sized businesses, as well as executives and management. leaders.

Clinically, Dr. Ambrose specializes in treatment-resistant mood disorders in adults, children, and adolescents. In interventional neurotherapeutic psychiatry, Dr. Ambrose also offers esketamine, ketamine, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) procedures.

Dr. Ambrose completed his medical training at Dartmouth and MGH, his public health training at the National Center for Primary Center, and his values-based health care training at the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice. He completed the Commonwealth Fellowship in Minority Health Policy at Harvard Medical School and holds a master's degree in health care management and public policy from Harvard University.
