Phone Anxiety Tips: Overcoming Your Fear of the Phone
Telephone anxiety, also called telephobia, is a type of SAD (social anxiety disorder). You don't have to have SAD to hate making phone calls, but the two often go hand in hand.
According to the ABC's Australia Talks survey, 56 per cent of people aged 18 to 22 reported feeling anxious when they had to call someone. Older generations (like mine) are conscious about how they talk on the phone. How they might be perceived if non-verbal cues were not used.
