Here's how to block it so no one else can use it!!

Via the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal of the Department of Telecommunications!

The Central Equipment Identity Registry (CEIR) is a central system for all network operators to share blacklisted mobile phones so that they cannot be used on other networks if the SIM card has been changed.

You can block the IMEI number of your lost smartphone via the CEIR portal!

Here's how to do it.

1. File an FIR with the police and keep a copy of the report.
2. Obtain a duplicate SIM card issued for the lost number from your telecom service provider to obtain the OTP.
3. Visit the web portal, fill the registration application form and attach a copy of FIR and address proof to block the IMEI number of their lost/stolen device.
4. Submit the form and note the generated “Request ID” for future reference. It is advisable to keep the “Request ID” in a safe place as it will be required to unblock the IMEI in the future.

Along with that, there are also other things you should block!
