Photography advice: what photo equipment to take for the polar regions

The polar regions are perhaps the most photogenic on the planet, with countless beautiful scenes presenting themselves every day. An expedition cruise to the Arctic or Antarctica is an opportunity to take some of the most beautiful photos for your collection. You will have the opportunity to capture endless expanses of ice, beaches populated by seals or penguins, sunsets over uninterrupted horizons, starry skies and even the majestic Northern Lights.

Filming in the polar regions is unique for several reasons. The first is that your gear is likely to get wet at some point during your trip. Additionally, cold temperatures can make shooting with batteries difficult.
