Photoshop Fix: Unable to complete your application due to a program error

This is definitely a Photoshop bug that is annoying and doesn't provide much in the way of troubleshooting. While there can be many reasons for this error, one common reason is that the PSD you are working with uses a different type of engine than the one your Photoshop is set to run on. In order to fix this so you can save to the PSD you need to go to Edit/Preferences/Type and change the type engine from East Asian to Middle Eastern and restart Photoshop.
