Pretzel Coated Chicken Nuggets in 30 Minutes

Many years ago I went to a taping for a new live cooking show starring Guy Fieri of “Diners Drive-Ins and Dives.” He was cooking up fried chicken strips with a spicy honey mustard sauce for an audience of cheering middle-aged women. Just before the commercial break he walked over to the front row and popped a hot chicken strip in my mouth. It was a day I will never forget.
Even though the show didn’t last long I didn’t forget about those chicken strips. Turns out pretzels are a great way to give chicken a tantalizing crunch. Bonus: using them as breadcrumbs can use up a languishing open bag of pretzels.
