In this video, I'll go over some handy proofreading tips and tools, all free, that you can start using today.

The first proofreading tool is the heading capitalization tool.

Type in your title or copy and paste it and it will tell you the correct way to capitalize using different style guides. So if you're switching between different style guides or just want to be right, go here.

Next comes OneLook. Some people have a favorite dictionary, others don't. If it's a strange word, you can check the most common spelling with this tool.

Next comes grammar. I've already made a few detailed videos on its pros and cons and why it will never replace an independent proofreader, but it is a free online tool to help detect grammar, punctuation and spelling.

This is very useful when browsing, sending emails, on social networks, as a last minute checker, for testing yourself or if you are writing short articles.

The final writing tool is Hemingway. It's more for writing or if you're getting into revision, but it's still very useful.
