Questions to answer when choosing a Linux distribution

There are over 600 distributions we need to narrow down the field. For over 50 years, I have seen solutions emerge when the right technology arrived.

Today we use a tool to help us choose a Linux distribution. This Linux distribution, if it's the one we want, we start shaping it. By shaping it over time, we make this Linux distribution our own:
we theme it
we configure it
we cut it and
we add applications to it.

By answering 16 questions, plus a few I have, we can narrow down the list. But we don't want to just narrow down the list, we want it to be one that meets our needs.
