William Carlos Williams wrote how irresistible plums are when they are fresh out of the refrigerator. However I want to assure you that if you can avoid eating a plum right away they are just as delicious in countless other ways.
Many years ago I spent about a week picking up plums from the ground. I waddled around the orchard on a farm in Burgundy France collecting the fruit as it fell from heavy branches at such a rate that we could hardly keep up. Many of the plums were split and bees were swarming around to feed on the pulp and juices.
