This bean soup is similar to chili. It is one of the most popular dishes in Tulsa public schools. Those of us who grew up in the 60s and 70s remember it fondly as a favorite treat. A real comfort food that sticks around. Traditionally it is served with cinnamon rolls. These were given to me by my grandmother who was a dietitian/chef for over 40 years.
