My wife Kate has a little list of foods she is convinced she doesn't like. An observant reader will have noticed that I have already revealed my bias: She is convinced. I am not.
I’ve long lived with the belief that if there’s a food I don’t like it usually means I haven’t had a good version of it. The foods I hate the most are the ones I keep coming back to to see what other people see in them. It’s an approach that’s served me well: following it I’ve grown to love chicken feet jelly eel black pudding fish eyes insects of all kinds and innards of almost every kind and function. Some of my favorite foods now are the ones that used to give me the creeps.
