Fried garlic rice also known as sinangag has always been on the Filipino table from the city to the countryside. It is popular for breakfast but can be served at any meal. It is also quick and easy and a great way to use up leftover rice.
“The smell of garlic in sinangag can wake anyone up” my son Tim said. He’s woken up many times to my brunch of garlic fried rice in our New Jersey kitchen. I like to pair it with eggs tomatoes and homemade tocino (cured pork) beef tapa or longanisa.
