Pasta alla Papalina – Creamy pasta with ham and peas
Every year for the last 30 years my parents and the neighbors in their little cul-de-sac have organized a party. It used to be a progressive party: one house had a starter another a main course another a dessert and yet another coffee.
Nowadays we hold the festivities at one house as most of the party goers are now in their 80s. It is always great fun with many stories both old and new that are told or retold with great taste each year.
As is often the case with gatherings like this you can never be entirely sure how many people will show up. It’s the holidays which means friends and family members will cancel or show up at the last minute. So even if you know certain people will come you can’t be entirely sure if their party will come and neither will they.
