This recipe is all about spices. When I was going to make a traditional tandoori marinade for these chicken kebabs I paused and decided to switch things up. I kept the yogurt base that keeps the meat moist as well as the lemon ginger garlic and cumin. But instead of mixing an Indian spice blend I tried an equal combination of smoked paprika hot paprika and cayenne.

The resulting kebabs were just as good if not better than the tandoori chicken I originally intended to make. The two peppers added a strong smoky and spicy kick to the juicy tender chicken. It just goes to show how even a small change can create something completely and wonderfully new.
