Pizza has long been one of the reigning champions of leftovers easy to eat cold out of the fridge the next day (as some may prefer) or pop in the microwave to reheat. But for those who claim hot is better and routinely favor the microwave as their method of choice there’s a better way—and it’s right there on your kitchen counter.

The Key to Reheating Pizza in an Airfryer

The air fryer is the best way to reheat that 'za no matter how long it's been sitting in the fridge. Not only is it fast and easy to use but it also ensures a perfectly crispy (never tough or dried out) crust so your second-day slice will be just as delicious and satisfying as the day it came out of the oven. Maybe even better. To make sure your slices don't dry out you can steam the process a little by adding a little water directly to the air fryer basket. This is the real secret weapon because the steam keeps everything moist while still helping to crisp up the crust.

The whole point of pizza (or maybe one of its biggest benefits) is convenience. When in doubt pizza does the job so you don’t want to go through the trouble and energy of turning on the oven if you don’t have to. And you don’t have to.

Simply preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (if you’ve ever been confused about the rules of preheating your air fryer you’re not alone) and arrange your slices so that there’s plenty of room to spread out—don’t overcrowd them. If you’re reheating a whole pizza you’ll want to work in batches. Maybe add a teaspoon or two—but not too much—of water directly to the air fryer basket. Then let the air fryer do its thing for just three to four minutes. If you’ve ever heard the saying that reheating bread (or bread-like foods) is a no-no and that it dries out such foods there’s some truth to that but the addition of water and the resulting steam prevents bread crust from becoming tough or chewy. The air fryer works by rapidly circulating hot air around the basket—which makes almost all pizza slices beautifully crispy.
