The cutscenes in Resident Evil Remake 2 and 3 are arranged in chronological order to form a true story of the events that took place in Raccoon City. The video uses Claire A/Leon B as the basis for the Resident Evil 2 portion of the story.

On the night of Tuesday, September 22, 1998, Dr. Birkin was attacked by a team from the Umbrella Security Service sent to recover the sample. This led to a series of events that culminated in the T virus entering Victory Lake via infected rats and entering the water supply.

Raccoon City is thrown into chaos by a zombie apocalypse caused by an outbreak of the T virus. On September 28, 1998, Jill Valentine, a former member of the Special Tactics And Rescue Service (STARS), was attacked in her apartment by a known intelligent biological weapon as Nemesis-T Type, who attempts to kill her and all remaining STARS members. Jill must now find a way to stop the virus outbreak while being chased throughout Raccoon City by the Nemesis.

On September 29, 1998, the virus engulfs the residents of Raccoon City as Leon S. Kennedy, a police officer on his first day of duty, and Claire Redfield, a college student searching for her brother Chris, meet and arrive in the city for an appointment at the Raccoon Police Department. They discover that most of the police officers have been killed and that Chris has left town to investigate Umbrella's headquarters in Europe. They split up to search for survivors and find a way out of the city.

Remarks:
– The trailer along with clocks and other information was used as a guide to place the cutscenes in their correct order.
– Claire A/Leon B were canon in the original Resident Evil 2 and still make the most sense in the Remake, so they were used as primary source material for the RE2 scenes.
– Annette Birkin appearing towards the end of the story for Claire and Léon respectively is simply explained by the fact that she likes to fake her own death to advance the plot until her real death.
– The Mr.X who chases Claire and Sherry and is attacked by William does not die after this scene and is simply immobilized until he regenerates. He then focuses solely on hunting Leon after this event.
– As the path to the virus is destroyed after Claire defeats Dr. Birkin for the 3rd time, Leon climbs the side of the elevator to access the room where the virus is kept.
