A melted ham and cheese filling with savory pesto tangy mustard and sweet cranberries adds interest and flavor to this festive Roast Turkey Cordon Bleu. It’s juicy tender and so flavorful that it doesn’t require gravy but if you’re a gravy fan feel free to use the roasting pan juices to make your own.

Holiday Roast Turkey "Cordon Bleu" – Food Wishes
Like many of my fellow Americans I grew up eating roast turkey on Thanksgiving which is why I’ve always been a little confused by recipes for turkey on Christmas. I love turkey especially with all the fixings but do we want to have that same feast again a month later? Well apparently many people do or they eat something other than turkey on Thanksgiving and wait until Christmas to roast one.
By the way after a few minutes of research on the subject I learned that turkey at Christmas is an old British tradition that predates our Thanksgiving menus; so technically a Christmas turkey is more historically correct. But whether you're making your first turkey of the year at Christmas or you enjoy a repeat I wanted to post a recipe that would work for either scenario.
This Roast Turkey Cordon Bleu is one of those recipes that looks and sounds fancy but is actually very simple and straightforward to make. In addition to the visual appeal this technique produces something that is far more flavorful than even the most perfectly roasted bird which for me is its biggest selling point. Plus you can customize the stuffing ingredients to your liking. So whether this is your first or second turkey of the season I really hope you give this a try soon. Enjoy!
