If I had to sum up this year (which I won’t because I’m long-winded enough describing one day it’s scary to think of what I could do with 365 days) after all the good stuff is behind me — and it has truly been a spectacular year with two book tours and several vacations and lots of great family time and dinners out and and and… here I go! — I’d admit that at least from the standpoint of moving recipe ideas from my head to the kitchen to this computer and then to yours I have kind of flopped and I have the photo IOUs to prove it. Make a great cocktail: milk-washed rum punch

For example I've been meaning to tell you about Blistered Green Beans since my cookbook went to print and I realized I completely forgot to include it as a recipe. It was meant to be a quick side dish for the flat-roasted chicken. Sorry.

I've tried adding beautiful orange segments to baked goods more times than I care to admit and I've always come to the conclusion that I just don't like baked orange segments.

I made five egg sandwich recipes for a magazine that never got published in 2012 and I wanted to tell you about them here. Uh maybe in 2014?
