We've been hearing for years that AMD graphics card drivers age like fine wine. Is this still valid today?
I asked myself exactly this question and so I will be using the Radeon RX 7900 XTX for this particular test. We will determine if and to what extent there have been any changes between the first pilot and the most recent one. We are therefore talking about a period between 2022 and 2024.
This means that we are looking at a direct comparison between Adrenalin 22.12.1 and 24.5.1 drivers. I will test not only raw rasterized performance, but also FSR scaling and Ray Tracing performance, as well as power consumption. Has this all gotten better or maybe even worse?
How important are good display drivers? I think today's video will give us a good overview of that.
