Epic Food & Wine Battle is a five-course tasting dinner, where you can judge the dinner and matching wines.

ROUND 1

THE PLACE

The first round of the HORSE VS MAGPIE battle will take place at Saddler's Creek Wines Barrel Room, at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 7. This is where we will gather as a large family to enjoy a feast celebrating the best of Hunter Valley food and wine.

THE FOOD
Testing their culinary skills are talented chefs – Jonathan Heath from Saddler's Eats and Matt Dillow from The Deck Café Lovedale.

Each chef will choose a dish to prepare and there are five dishes to enjoy.

WINE

Each Cellar Door has chosen its best wines to accompany each dish. Winemaker Brett Woodward representing Saddler's Creek Wines and Jimmy Smith's of Gartelmann Wines.

Wines from each team are served side-by-side with each dish. As a judge, you decide which wine best matches each dish throughout the battle.
