Salisbury steak is such a satisfying skillet meal! Did you grow up with it?

We eat a lot of ground beef at home so it's nice to have a variety of dishes in the rotation. When we've had enough of pasta and meatballs Joe's Special chili and our other standbys that means it's time to go back to Salisbury steak.

The name is a bit misleading: these “steaks” are actually ground beef held together with egg and breadcrumbs. They are essentially individual meatloaf patties that are seared and then braised in a savory mushroom sauce.
