This salt and pepper tofu is something you can use as an ingredient in all sorts of meals. It’s great in salads tossed with noodles or served over grain bowls. Bonus: it’s easy to make here’s how. Mix crumbled extra-firm tofu with seasoned nutritional yeast to create a nice coating. Then pan-fry until deep golden brown. You can eat it warm but a long chill in the fridge will improve the texture and flavor. There are many Chinese recipes for salt and pepper tofu. Just know that this is not that. This is something else – more like a tasty hippie tofu from the health food store or a delicious tofu-based alternative to chicken. I can’t get enough of it here.
