This is a slow cooker tamale pie recipe that is very similar to authentic tamales but without all the work! Sometimes I double this recipe and make it in a large slow cooker. This recipe is a big hit with my husband. Serve with a variety of toppings such as sour cream more cheese salsa green onions tomatoes etc.

1 can (425 grams) kidney beans drained and rinsed
1 can (280 grams) enchilada sauce
1 ½ teaspoon garlic powder
