*paint the light fixtures instead of buying new ones – I just took ours off and spray painted it gold
*painting supplies – we had to get rid of the leafy handles in this room, but I usually just spray paint
*Get faucets on Amazon – I have yet to replace ours with a gold faucet, but Amazon has faucets at a fraction of the price of Lowe's/Home Depot, etc.
* shop at home – shop around your house for new rugs or art, or like we did with the shower curtain // I just swapped the one in the girls' bathroom with this one
* create your own art! – I got this idea from a friend. I painted the geometric piece and made the dried flower art in the frame
*reuse – I used an old basket for the trash
*economy! – I save first for EVERYTHING. It helps if you plan a project and give yourself a few weeks to find something at the thrift store rather than deciding you want something done on impulse.
* use leftover paint – we used leftovers from our living space and we *almost* had enough, but we still saved
