Recipe: Sour cherry mint sorbet
This is the dessert I will be making all summer long. With only 5 ingredients it is so easy! The best part is (if you have a good blender) you don’t need an ice cream maker for this. Just blend and freeze. It is sweet and sour and so delicious with a little unexpected hint of mint.
Jack and I both love Montmorency sour cherries for a number of reasons (see all these recipes that use them). They have some amazing superfood qualities they are known to help with post-workout muscle soreness and they are a natural source of melatonin which helps regulate sleep. Of course we love them most of all because they taste great!
This recipe is naturally sweetened with maple syrup. While it is very fruity and refreshing it is still quite a decadent dessert. I love a small scoop as an afternoon treat – or better yet serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert – the combination is heavenly.
