Meatless spaghetti and meatballs may seem like a contradiction in terms but trust me there are plenty of ways to make them meatless. In fact I’ve been addicted to two vegetarian meatball recipes lately. I couldn’t pick a favorite so instead of choosing one to share here I’m sharing both! They both have a chewy texture and a rich savory flavor that’s irresistible with al dente pasta and a tangy tomato sauce. Even Jack my meatball-loving husband devoured them both. If you’re craving a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs one of these recipes is definitely for you. Let’s get cooking!

This spaghetti recipe is inspired by the classic combination of pasta meatballs and sauce but with a few fresh twists. First I replace half of the regular pasta with spiralized zucchini noodles to lighten it up a bit. Feel free to use all of the pasta if you want a heartier dish or use all of the zucchini noodles to lighten it up even more. Spaghetti squash would also be a great choice here.
