Tandoori chicken gets its name from the bell-shaped tandoor clay oven that is also used to make naan or Indian flatbread.
Skinless chicken legs and thighs are marinated in a tender mixture of yoghurt lemon juice and spices. The meat is cut in several places to the bone so that the marinade can penetrate better and the chicken cooks faster.
