COLOMBIAN CHEESE STICKS | How to make Venezuelan Tequeños | SyS
Serious Mealtimes / Julia Estrada
When I posted a recipe for guasacaca a Venezuelan avocado salsa the green creamy sauce got some love but it was clear from Serious Eaters that the real stars were the tequeños also pictured made purely for dipping into the sauce. There were multiple calls for a tequeño recipe but this was my first attempt and they had a few kinks to iron out. It may have taken me a while but I finally gave those delicious cheese sticks another try and came up with something pretty good so I’m ditching my usual sauce recipe this week and unleashing the creamy awesomeness of the almighty tequeño instead.
Okay I’m sure not everyone knows what a tequeño is. Until I discovered the gem that is Arepas Cafe in my hometown of Astoria New York years ago I had never heard of them or seen one. But after one bite I knew I could never live without one.
