We tested the viral TikTok cinnamon rolls

I love cinnamon rolls so much that I once baked nine different recipes in one day to find my absolute favorite. I did a blind tasting with my friends and family and together we found a recipe so perfect that I have barely deviated from it in the past five years. The rolls have a pillowy doughy texture and a balanced ratio of dough to filling to frosting.

In the cinnamon roll baking contest there was a recipe (that came in second place) that had a surprising ingredient in it and it turns out it can take any cinnamon roll recipe from great to amazing even store-bought and frozen ones. I’m always open to tweaking things that improve even my favorite recipes so I use this easy one-ingredient upgrade whenever I make cinnamon rolls: whipped cream.
