Before I had kids I condemned parents who had a second refrigerator in the basement. The excess! And then a while after my third child was born I became one of the nearly 43 million Americans who own a second refrigerator. (I saw the light! I repent!)
Our second refrigerator is a lifesaver. It’s filled with things I cook or buy in bulk like kimchi banchan (Korean side dishes) pickles from many summers ago and lots of condiments. The refrigerator has a freezer compartment with a Noah’s Ark of frozen foods which is handy when I don’t have the means to make dinner. Most of them come from Trader Joe’s a family favorite.
